Home › Christmas light installation › Finksburg
Finksburg is almost all detached houses spread over 27 square miles of Carroll County, some of them well back from the road. A display here often starts with the drive and the trees, not only the gutter line.
Lighting homes in Finksburg
Finksburg is straight up MD 140 from our Pikesville office. The road is Reisterstown Road at our door and Baltimore Boulevard by the time it crosses Liberty Reservoir into Carroll County.
Roughly 93% of homes in 21048 are single detached houses, and only about 2% are attached. There are no townhouse rows here and no neighbor’s roofline to match, so each display is planned around one house: which side faces the road, how far back it sits, and whether the trees and the drive will be seen more than the eaves.
Around a third of residents live in areas the census counts as rural. On a property down a long driveway the roof may be hard to see from the road, and lighting the drive or the trees near the house can do more for it. A long setback also means working out where the power comes from before the first ladder goes up, rather than on the day.
About 10% of homes in 21048, around 370 houses, were built before 1940. On a farmhouse that old the roof has usually been replaced many times, occasionally over the top of earlier layers, and nobody can tell from the ground what is under the surface. That is a roof for someone who is comfortable on it and knows what the layers mean before stepping out onto them.
Housing figures are from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (2020-2024 5-year) for ZIP 21048. Land area and rural share via city-data.com.

Planned around your house
Tell us how much or how little you want. Some people want the roofline and nothing else. Others want the whole front of the house. The plan and the price are in writing before anything goes up.
Why a roofer
Most of the damage from Christmas lights is not visible until spring. These are the things we see on roofs after the decorations come down.
We are a roofing company first. If something looks wrong after the season, we can inspect the roof for free and photograph what we find.
Installation and maintenance
Call or send the form with your address and what you would like lit. A rough idea is enough to start.
We check the roofline, the roof surface and where the power will come from, then put the plan and the price in writing.
Licensed, insured roofers working at height every week of the year, not a seasonal crew borrowed for December.
If a section goes dark, call us and we arrange a visit to put it right.
Neighborhoods, roads and ZIPs
21048 is Finksburg, and all of it is in Carroll County. If your mail says 21048, Carroll County is the permit authority, not Baltimore County.

“It’s been great working with Dmitry and Bravo roofing for several years now. They did a full tear off and replace of my flat roof back in 2019. I had a leak last year and Dmitry came out to inspect. He found that an old roof antenna had fallen off and punctured it.”
Tony DeBraccio · Google“I highly recommend Bravo for any kind of roof repair or construction. Dmitry, the business owner, is meticulous and detailed. He personally assessed the leaking overhang roof in our old house and delivered a thorough and economical solution.”
Google review · verified“Very professional, reasonably priced, quick and did a great job. 10/10”

No. Finksburg is on MD 140, the same road as our office in Pikesville, so it is a straight drive up through Reisterstown and across the reservoir. If a section of your display goes dark during the season, call and we arrange a visit.
Sometimes it is the right line and sometimes it is not. If the house sits far back, the roofline can be hard to see from the road, and the driveway, the trees or the front of the property may show better. We walk the property with you and tell you honestly what will be seen, and from where.
It depends on how many feet of roofline and gutter are being lit, how high and steep the roof is, and what else is on the plan, such as trees, windows or a walkway. We look at the house first and give you the price in writing, so you are comparing a real number rather than a per-foot estimate that grows on the day.
It should not, and as a roofing company it is the part we care most about. Nothing should be fastened through your shingles, and nobody should be leaning a ladder on your gutters. If you want to know exactly how your roofline will be attached, ask us before the install and we will walk you through it.
If a strand or a section of your display stops working during the season, call us on (410) 977-4411 and we will arrange a visit to put it right. The details for your house are confirmed in your written quote.
Yes. Bravo Roofing is a licensed Maryland home improvement contractor, MHIC #114601, carrying $1,000,000 in liability coverage plus workers compensation. The same people who replace roofs across Baltimore are the ones on yours.
Earlier is better. Installation dates fill as the season gets closer, so calling in the fall gives you the widest choice of dates. Call (410) 977-4411 for the current schedule.
