Home › Christmas light installation › Severn
Nearly a third of homes in Severn are townhouses, and many of those rows have low-slope roofs where the front edge is the only line anyone sees. The rest are detached houses from two building booms twenty years apart.
Lighting homes in Severn
About 30% of homes in 21144 are attached, a higher share than in Glen Burnie or Annapolis. In Severn, lighting a house often means lighting part of a row.
On many Severn townhouse rows the roof is low-slope rather than pitched. From the street there is no peak or gable to outline, just the front edge and the gutter line, so that is where a display does most of its work. Because the row shares that edge, it is worth agreeing with the neighbors on either side where the lights begin and end.
The detached streets come from two waves. About one home in five in 21144 dates from the 1970s, and more than half went up between 1990 and 2019. The 1970s houses are on their second or third roof; the newer ones in places like Arundel Forest are more likely on an original builder roof or its first replacement. Either way, we look at the shingle before anyone puts weight on it.
The Provinces, near Fort Meade, is really two communities: one built before 1980 and an attached subdivision from after 1990. A few streets apart you can have a pitched roof with long eaves and a low-slope row, and they call for different plans. Sandridge, by contrast, is single-family homes, where the whole roofline belongs to one house.

Planned around your house
Tell us how much or how little you want. Some people want the roofline and nothing else. Others want the whole front of the house. The plan and the price are in writing before anything goes up.
Why a roofer
Most of the damage from Christmas lights is not visible until spring. These are the things we see on roofs after the decorations come down.
We are a roofing company first. If something looks wrong after the season, we can inspect the roof for free and photograph what we find.
Installation and maintenance
Call or send the form with your address and what you would like lit. A rough idea is enough to start.
We check the roofline, the roof surface and where the power will come from, then put the plan and the price in writing.
Licensed, insured roofers working at height every week of the year, not a seasonal crew borrowed for December.
If a section goes dark, call us and we arrange a visit to put it right.

“It’s been great working with Dmitry and Bravo roofing for several years now. They did a full tear off and replace of my flat roof back in 2019. I had a leak last year and Dmitry came out to inspect. He found that an old roof antenna had fallen off and punctured it.”
Tony DeBraccio · Google“I highly recommend Bravo for any kind of roof repair or construction. Dmitry, the business owner, is meticulous and detailed. He personally assessed the leaking overhang roof in our old house and delivered a thorough and economical solution.”

The front edge and gutter line, mostly, and on a low-slope row that is the part people see from the street anyway. We stay off a low-slope roof unless there is a good reason to be on it. If your neighbors are lighting too, it is worth lining up where each section stops so the row reads as one line.
Yes. About a quarter of 21144 is Gambrills rather than Severn, and a small part is Odenton. It is all Anne Arundel County, and all within the area we cover. If a section of your display goes dark during the season, you call and we arrange a visit.
It depends on how many feet of roofline and gutter are being lit, how high and steep the roof is, and what else is on the plan, such as trees, windows or a walkway. We look at the house first and give you the price in writing, so you are comparing a real number rather than a per-foot estimate that grows on the day.
It should not, and as a roofing company it is the part we care most about. Nothing should be fastened through your shingles, and nobody should be leaning a ladder on your gutters. If you want to know exactly how your roofline will be attached, ask us before the install and we will walk you through it.
If a strand or a section of your display stops working during the season, call us on (410) 977-4411 and we will arrange a visit to put it right. The details for your house are confirmed in your written quote.
Yes. Bravo Roofing is a licensed Maryland home improvement contractor, MHIC #114601, carrying $1,000,000 in liability coverage plus workers compensation. The same people who replace roofs across Baltimore are the ones on yours.
Earlier is better. Installation dates fill as the season gets closer, so calling in the fall gives you the widest choice of dates. Call (410) 977-4411 for the current schedule.
