Towson has nearly 1,800 Rodgers Forge rowhomes on one side of York Road and mid-century detached houses on the other. A row and a detached house call for different plans, and on a row your neighbors share the roofline.
Lighting homes in Towson
In Rodgers Forge, one house is really one section of a block. Lighting it well usually means thinking about the whole row, not just your own front.
Rodgers Forge holds nearly 1,800 rowhomes built in the 1930s and 1940s, running between York Road, Stevenson Lane, Bellona Avenue and Overbrook Road. Their roofs are low-slope, so from the sidewalk the visible line is the front edge rather than a peak. Because that edge runs across the whole row, a display that stops at the party wall shows it. Talking to the neighbors first usually gives a better result.
The detached side of Towson is mid-century. The largest group of homes in 21204 went up in the 1960s, and roughly 45% were built between 1950 and 1979, around Stoneleigh, Idlewylde and Wiltondale. Pitched roofs with long eaves light cleanly. Many are on their second or third roof, so we check what is up there before we lean a ladder on it.
Anneslie is a designated historic district of roughly 500 homes from the 1920s, just north of the city line. Designation can bring rules on appearance, and an older roof deserves care whatever it is made of. Hampton has larger and older properties as well. On houses like these we look at the roof first and plan the lights around it.

Planned around your house
Tell us how much or how little you want. Some people want the roofline and nothing else. Others want the whole front of the house. The plan and the price are in writing before anything goes up.
Why a roofer
Most of the damage from Christmas lights is not visible until spring. These are the things we see on roofs after the decorations come down.
We are a roofing company first. If something looks wrong after the season, we can inspect the roof for free and photograph what we find.
Installation and maintenance
Call or send the form with your address and what you would like lit. A rough idea is enough to start.
We check the roofline, the roof surface and where the power will come from, then put the plan and the price in writing.
Licensed, insured roofers working at height every week of the year, not a seasonal crew borrowed for December.
If a section goes dark, call us and we arrange a visit to put it right.
Neighborhoods, roads and ZIPs
21204 covers most of Towson, with 21286 to the east. Both sit in Baltimore County, so the permit authority is the same across the town.

“It’s been great working with Dmitry and Bravo roofing for several years now. They did a full tear off and replace of my flat roof back in 2019. I had a leak last year and Dmitry came out to inspect. He found that an old roof antenna had fallen off and punctured it.”
Tony DeBraccio · Google“I highly recommend Bravo for any kind of roof repair or construction. Dmitry, the business owner, is meticulous and detailed. He personally assessed the leaking overhang roof in our old house and delivered a thorough and economical solution.”
Google review · verified“Very professional, reasonably priced, quick and did a great job. 10/10”

Yes. Your section of the roofline is yours to light. On a row, though, lights that stop at the party wall can look unfinished, so some households coordinate with the houses on either side. We are happy to look at two or three neighboring homes together and plan them as one line.
Historic designation can affect appearance, and we would rather you check what applies to your address than have us guess. What we look at is the roof itself. On a house from the 1920s we decide which lines can be lit without stressing older materials, and tell you before anything goes up.
It depends on how many feet of roofline and gutter are being lit, how high and steep the roof is, and what else is on the plan, such as trees, windows or a walkway. We look at the house first and give you the price in writing, so you are comparing a real number rather than a per-foot estimate that grows on the day.
It should not, and as a roofing company it is the part we care most about. Nothing should be fastened through your shingles, and nobody should be leaning a ladder on your gutters. If you want to know exactly how your roofline will be attached, ask us before the install and we will walk you through it.
If a strand or a section of your display stops working during the season, call us on (410) 977-4411 and we will arrange a visit to put it right. The details for your house are confirmed in your written quote.
Yes. Bravo Roofing is a licensed Maryland home improvement contractor, MHIC #114601, carrying $1,000,000 in liability coverage plus workers compensation. The same people who replace roofs across Baltimore are the ones on yours.
Earlier is better. Installation dates fill as the season gets closer, so calling in the fall gives you the widest choice of dates. Call (410) 977-4411 for the current schedule.
