Most people with a Bel Air address live in Bel Air North or Bel Air South, where whole streets went up in the 1980s and 1990s. Nearly one home in three in Bel Air South is attached, so many displays here share a roofline.
Lighting homes in Bel Air
In Bel Air the house is usually a 1980s or 1990s build, and on a lot of streets it is joined to the next one. Both facts shape how the lights go up.
About half of all homes in Bel Air South were built in the 1980s and 1990s, and Bel Air North peaked in the 1990s. Most of those houses are on their second roof or coming up on it. That matters before a display goes up, because a roof near the end of its life is one we look at closely before anyone walks on it. If something up there needs attention first, we will tell you.
Nearly one home in three in Bel Air South is attached. On a townhouse row the roofline belongs to several owners, and if there is an HOA it may have its own view on holiday displays. Check with both before we plan, so the lights run where you want them and end at a point that makes sense, rather than at a party wall halfway along a line.
The Town of Bel Air itself is older and denser. Its biggest building decade was the 1970s, and around the 1858 courthouse, where Main, Office and Courtland Streets meet, the Courthouse Historic District is a small group of two- and three-story brick and frame buildings. The town also has about fifty locally designated historic properties. On an older house we look at the roof material before we plan anything, because how the lights go up depends on it.
Housing figures are from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (2020-2024 5-year) for the Town of Bel Air, Bel Air North and Bel Air South.

Planned around your house
Tell us how much or how little you want. Some people want the roofline and nothing else. Others want the whole front of the house. The plan and the price are in writing before anything goes up.
Why a roofer
Most of the damage from Christmas lights is not visible until spring. These are the things we see on roofs after the decorations come down.
We are a roofing company first. If something looks wrong after the season, we can inspect the roof for free and photograph what we find.
Installation and maintenance
Call or send the form with your address and what you would like lit. A rough idea is enough to start.
We check the roofline, the roof surface and where the power will come from, then put the plan and the price in writing.
Licensed, insured roofers working at height every week of the year, not a seasonal crew borrowed for December.
If a section goes dark, call us and we arrange a visit to put it right.

“It’s been great working with Dmitry and Bravo roofing for several years now. They did a full tear off and replace of my flat roof back in 2019. I had a leak last year and Dmitry came out to inspect. He found that an old roof antenna had fallen off and punctured it.”
Tony DeBraccio · Google“I highly recommend Bravo for any kind of roof repair or construction. Dmitry, the business owner, is meticulous and detailed. He personally assessed the leaking overhang roof in our old house and delivered a thorough and economical solution.”
Google review · verified“Very professional, reasonably priced, quick and did a great job. 10/10”

Yes. The thing to settle first is where the run ends. On a shared roofline we plan around the party wall so the line stops cleanly at your house, and we suggest checking with your HOA, if you have one, before anything goes up. If your neighbors want to join in, we can look at the row together.
Mostly the roof. Older houses in town can have materials and roof shapes the newer suburbs do not, and about fifty town properties are locally designated historic. We look at the roof before quoting and tell you honestly what can be lit and how, which on some houses means the porch and landscaping rather than the ridge.
It depends on how many feet of roofline and gutter are being lit, how high and steep the roof is, and what else is on the plan, such as trees, windows or a walkway. We look at the house first and give you the price in writing, so you are comparing a real number rather than a per-foot estimate that grows on the day.
It should not, and as a roofing company it is the part we care most about. Nothing should be fastened through your shingles, and nobody should be leaning a ladder on your gutters. If you want to know exactly how your roofline will be attached, ask us before the install and we will walk you through it.
If a strand or a section of your display stops working during the season, call us on (410) 977-4411 and we will arrange a visit to put it right. The details for your house are confirmed in your written quote.
Yes. Bravo Roofing is a licensed Maryland home improvement contractor, MHIC #114601, carrying $1,000,000 in liability coverage plus workers compensation. The same people who replace roofs across Baltimore are the ones on yours.
Earlier is better. Installation dates fill as the season gets closer, so calling in the fall gives you the widest choice of dates. Call (410) 977-4411 for the current schedule.
